A Destin vacation can feel like a dream come true to just about anyone, but that was especially the case when George Scott finally made his way to the Emerald Coast at the end of July. He had always been told that Destin is “heaven on earth” and he wanted to see for himself, but he never had the chance. That changed when the Wish of a Lifetime organization stepped in to turn Scott’s dream into a reality.

Scott’s Story

It hasn’t been easy going for Scott. In 2009, he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. The illness bought on a wealth of medical bills, making it difficult for him to travel far beyond his hometown in Tennessee. His wife wanted to do something special for her husband so she filled out the application in the hopes of taking him to the place that his son had first told him about years ago. His son was no longer with him, but hopefully a Destin vacation would cheer him up while battling his illness.

The Trip

The application was selected and the married couple and their two children took a Destin vacation from July 27 through the 31st. This was a very special Destin vacation. Not only did they get to enjoy the beach and everything else that Destin has to offer, but it also gave them chance to enjoy time together without any doctor’s appointments.

You are probably wondering if the Destin vacation lived up to the Destin of Scott’s dreams. In his own words, “I love that beach–you can’t beat it.”

It sounds like it was a trip worth waiting for.

Of course, you don’t have to wait to go to Destin. The peak season is running down so prices are falling, making Destin more affordable than ever. If you want to take your own Destin vacation, find your rental on this site and then get ready for the trip of a lifetime.
