4^th of July Extravaganza on the Harbor

The 4^th of July Extravaganza on the Harbor is the biggest Destin 4^th of July celebration available. It takes place at Harborwalk Village and lasts from 5:30 PM until 10 PM. You can listen to livre music, including some patriotic WWII classics. Then, you can enjoy the fireworks at the end of the night.

Destin’s July 4^th Fireworks

If you just want to enjoy some fireworks, you can attend Destin’s July 4^th Fireworks. They take place at the East Pass and are put on by the City of Destin. They start at 9 PM. Be sure to tune in to Z-96.5 so you can listen to the simulcast while you watch the show.

Smoke the Coast BBQ and Fireworks Festival

It may come a day early (July 3^rd), but nothing says “Destin 4^th of July celebration” quite like fireworks and BBQ. The Smoke the Coast BBQ and Fireworks Festival has that, along with live music, street performers and children’s activities. It only cost $1 per BBQ sample and the money goes to charity. Stop by Destin Commons between 2 PM and 10 PM to attend this event. If you just want to sample the BBQ, head over at 5.

When and Where

You can attend the street party and Fat Tuesday parade every Tuesday at the Harborwalk Village. Come at 7 PM for the street party and then enjoy the parade at 8:30. This is one of the most exciting Destin events so be sure to stop by if you want in on the action. You might even walk away with some cool beads and other fun stuff.

Don’t be a Bystander

As much fun as it is to attend a parade, it’s even more fun to take part in one. You can if you buy the Fat Tuesday Package. It costs $20 for adults and kids get it for free. If you get the package, you can ride on an authentic, New Orleans style float. The float has beads that you can throw, plus a private host.  You will also get free drinks during the ride. Drinks include Coke products, PowerAde, beer, and water.

In addition, you will get your face painted before you take off on the float.

You will also get some extras, including a free flag, a t-shirt, koozies, and a souvenir photo. This will give you the true Mardi Gras experience.

This is one of the best Destin events if you like to party. It doesn’t matter if you are traveling with your family or with friends. This is a party that everyone can attend.
